Conference Paper
I will present a paper, SOCIAL SCIENCE GUIDELINES FOR SURVEY RESEARCH at the 70th Annual Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA) Conference, April 12-15, 2012, Chicago, Illinois.
Upcoming Event
I will lead a discussion and answer questions at an Ask an Expert Discussion Circle, titled, "The Problem with Survey Research and What to Do about It", at the Annual Conference of the American Society for Public Administration, March 2-6, 2012, Las Vegas, Nevada.
New Course
QUALITY MANAGEMENT IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR is the name of a new course that will be offered in Spring or Fall 2012. This course will build on my book, QUALITY Public Management: What It Is and How It Can Be Improved and Advanced, for which I am currently preparing a Revised Second Edition. Assigned readings will include articles from Quality Management Journal and Journal for Quality and Participation, case studies of quality management in public sector organizations, and descriptions, analyses, and exercises of quality management tools.

Quality management practitioners from the public sector will be invited as guest speakers. A draft of the syllabus is forthcoming, including additional details regarding readings and guest speakers. Updated Manuscript Preface
I have revised the Preface of my latest book manuscript, The Problem With Survey Research (publishing March 2012 - Transaction Publishers).
Second Edition
I am working on a Second Edition of my QUALITY Public Management book.
Appointments
I have been appointed by the Department of Public Administration to chair a committee to develop a proposal for an Executive MPA program. The committee will begin its work in January 2012.
I was recently appointed Director of Graduate Studies for the Master of Public Administration (DGS-MPA) at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). The appointment is effective August 16, 2010 through August 15, 2012.
As DGS-MPA, I am the Chair of the MPA Committee and member (ex officio) of the Executive Committee.
